Georgia Traffic Watch — Support
An app by Browning PC, LLC
Georgia Traffic Watch shows live wrecks and closures on Georgia's interstates and roads, sourced from Georgia 511 / GDOT, and can notify you when one happens near a place you care about.
Common questions
- How do alerts work? Open Alerts, turn them on, and add at least one place (home, work, anywhere you drive). You'll get one notification per incident when a wreck or closure lands within the radius you chose. Full closures and wrecks are Time-Sensitive, so they come through Focus.
- Why does it need my location? Only to work out which incidents are near your saved places. It's requested while you use the app, never in the background, and rounded to about a city block before it leaves your iPhone. No places, no location leaves the device.
- Which alerts can I get? Full closures, wrecks & incidents, lane closures, and roadwork — each can be turned on or off. Roadwork is off by default because there's a lot of it.
- Can I add more than one place? Yes — up to five, each with its own radius. Alerts fire for any of them.
- Is this official? No. The app is not affiliated with GDOT or Georgia 511. Data can lag a few minutes — confirm with 511 or 511ga.org before travel, never use the app while driving, and in an emergency call 911.
