Georgia Traffic Watch — Privacy Policy

Georgia Traffic Watch ("the app," "we," "us") is published by Browning PC, LLC. This policy explains what data the app handles and why. We keep it deliberately minimal.

Where the traffic data comes from

Live incidents come from Georgia 511 / GDOT (the Georgia Department of Transportation's official real-time traffic system). Georgia Traffic Watch is not affiliated with GDOT or Georgia 511. Data can lag real conditions by a few minutes — always confirm with 511 or 511ga.org before you travel, and never use the app while driving. In an emergency, call 911.

Information we collect

There is no account and no sign-in. The app collects only what it needs to show you nearby traffic and, if you choose, to alert you:

• Your saved places (precise location), only if you add them. When you add a place — home, work, anywhere you drive — or tap "use my current location," the coordinates are rounded to about a city block (three decimal places, ~110 m) before they leave your iPhone. They are sent to our alert service only so it can work out which wrecks and closures are within the radius you chose. If you never add a place and never turn on alerts, no location leaves your device.
• A notification token (device identifier), only if you turn on alerts. To send push notifications, Apple issues a token that identifies your device (not you). We store it so we can send you the alerts you asked for.

That's all. No name, no email, no advertising identifiers, no analytics or tracking SDKs. Neither the location nor the token is linked to your identity — there is no account to link them to — and neither is ever used for tracking or shared for advertising. We do not sell your information.

How we use information

• Your saved places: to decide which incidents are near you, on the map and in alerts.
• Your notification token: to deliver the alerts you turned on, and nothing else.

Data retention and deletion

Your saved places live on your device. Turning off alerts, or removing your places, deletes your location and notification token from our alert service — that is the app's complete data-removal control, and it takes one tap. Deleting the app removes everything stored on the device.

Children's privacy

Georgia Traffic Watch is a general-audience app and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above.
